"Beth McDonald's verse slides the reader effortlessly
through other times, other places, other voices. She
paints rich worlds in spare words, Whether it he through
colorful close ups amid the expanse of a Native American
reservation or time travel to scenes of sacrifice by
nurse, soldier, or farm worker; it is a joy to join her
in honoring the conviction of unsung heroes and beauty
of simple lives. Prepare for goose bumps, smiles and
tears as McDonald celebrates our common roles in the
human condition.”
- Ann H. Bond, Coordinator, Aspen Guard Station
Artist-In-Residence
Program, 1995-2011
